CHP Investigates Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 215 in San Bernardino

San Bernardino, CA (December 29, 2022) – Early Thursday morning, a pedestrian died in a crash on Interstate 215.

The fatal crash in San Bernardino happened around 1:18 a.m. on December 29.

CHP said a vehicle crashed into someone who was walking or riding a bike along the freeway.

It happened on southbound Interstate 215 right before the transition ramps to the eastbound and westbound 210 freeways.

The pedestrian was found unresponsive in the center divider of the transition ramp. 

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.

No additional information is immediately available. 

This incident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
