CHP Investigates Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Grant Street in Concord

Concord, CA (September 23, 2022) – Early Friday morning, a pedestrian died in a crash on Grant Street on-ramp. 

The fatal crash in Concord happened at around 4 a.m. on September 23 on State Highway 242.

CHP said the pedestrian was walking within the roadway when he was hit by a Honda Civic.

EMS took the victim to a hospital where he later died.

The driver remained uninjured. 

No other information is immediately available.

The CHP encouraged anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact their Contra Costa office at 925-646-4980.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
