Deputy Patrol Car Involved in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Franklin Boulevard near Pecheron Drive

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (October 31, 2021) – Friday afternoon, a pedestrian died in a crash on Franklin Boulevard near Pecheron Drive.
 
The incident occurred at about 10:43 p.m. on Franklin Boulevard near Pecheron Drive.
 
According to reports, a deputy patrol car struck a pedestrian during the foggy night.
 
Meanwhile, two witnesses revealed that the pedestrian was in the “middle of the road with their back to oncoming traffic.”
 
Reports confirmed that a deputy with the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center drove a sheriff’s patrol car. Then, the deputy hit the pedestrian.
 
Afterward, the deputy immediately gave the pedestrian medical aid until first responders arrived. Then, they transported the patient to a local hospital for treatment.
 
However, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries the next day.
 
At this time, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
