Pedestrian Dies after Collision on El Camino Real Between Henderson and Poplar Avenues

 
SUNNYVALE, CA (June 16, 2018) – A man was killed in a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on El Camino Real, early Saturday morning.
 
The collision occurred at around 5:15 AM after receiving a report that a man was on the ground in the westbound lane of El Camino Real. Officers and firefighters arrived at the scene in the area between Henderson Avenue and Poplar Avenue.
 
The 67-year-old female driver sustained minor injuries and was cooperating with investigators. Her identity has not been disclosed at this time. Despite life-saving attempts made by public safety officials, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
All lanes of westbound El Camino Real between Henderson and Poplar Avenues were shut down, as public safety officers conducted their investigation at the scene of the crash. The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority diverted traffic from westbound routes 22 and 522 because of the incident.
