CHP Investigates after Pedestrian Dies in Crash on 405 Freeway in Van Nuys

Van Nuys, CA (July 1, 2022) – Early Friday morning, a pedestrian died in a crash on 405 Freeway, south of Burbank Boulevard.

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash in Van Nuys happened at around 1:46 a.m. on July 1.

The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the crash scene.

CHP said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

No other information is immediately released.

Further investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
