Pedestrian Dies after being Struck by Vehicle on Highway 41 near Floral Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (July 15, 2018) – A person was killed in a pedestrian collision on Highway 41 near Floral Avenue, late Sunday evening. The deceased victim’s identity was not immediately released to the public, pending notification of next of kin.
 
An attending coroner pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene, just after 10:00 PM. The California Highway Patrol stated that an unidentified vehicle struck the pedestrian and it was not clear if the collision occurred in a designated crosswalk.
 
The road closed for at least another hour and a half while officials investigated the scene. Traffic was diverted at Floral Avenue, causing a backup. No additional information has been disclosed at this time.
