Man Died in Auto-Pedestrian Crash in State Route 76 Oceanside
Oceanside, CA (May 25, 2020)– Sunday night, a 25-year-old pedestrian died in an auto crash at the intersection of State Route 76 and College Boulevard.
The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on May 24. Dispatched officers arrived and located a vehicle and the pedestrian down on the scene.
Witnesses said that a car heading east on SR 76, and the traffic signal was green when the driver approached the intersection. Then the pedestrian crossed SR 76 with a red hand signal flashing before being hit.
Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity remains unreleased.
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officers say the driver showed no signs of impairment.
