Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 43 in Wasco
WASCO, CA (October 13, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Sunday evening in Wasco, authorities said.
The incident happened just after 7:00 p.m. on Highway 43 north of Jackson Avenue.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the pedestrian was walking in the roadway when an unknown vehicle struck them.
As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending family notification.
The crash closed the highway between Jackson and Filburn avenues for an extended period of time while authorities conducted their investigation.
No additional information was provided at this time.
