Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Simon Way in El Rio

 
EL RIO, CA (February 15, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in El Rio, the California Highway Patrol reported.
 
The fatal incident happened around 3:12 p.m. at the intersection of Simon Way and Minna Street, just in front of Valero gas station.
 
CHP officials did not provide the details of how the crash occurred, but the pedestrian died as a result of the accident.
 
The coroner’s office was immediately notified to conduct a full report. They did not release the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
 
Officials are still investigating the incident and more information will be provided when accessible.
