Pedestrian Killed in Accident on State Route 76 [Oceanside, CA]

Oceanside, CA (January 8, 2024) – A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries following a traffic accident on State Route 76 Sunday evening.

The Oceanside Police officers responded to the car vs pedestrian accident at 6:23 p.m. on westbound freeway near Canyon Drive.

The police report stated that the pedestrian was crossing the highway near the intersection when a westbound white Toyota Prius struck them.

Moreover, the driver remained at the scene and police said drugs or alcohol did not play a role in this accident.

Troopers closed the westbound freeway from Benet Road to Canyon Drive for hours due to the fatal collision.
