Pedestrian Suffered Broken Arm in San Diego Pickup Truck Accident

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 28, 2019) – A man sustained a broken arm when he was whacked by the side mirror of a pickup truck on Friday, Jan. 25.

According to San Diego Police Sgt. Michael Tansey, the 69-year-old victim was crossing mid-block outside a crosswalk at around 6:35 p.m. in the 6900 block of Linda Vista Road near Comstock Street when he was hit by the passenger-side mirror of a Ford F-150 traveling southbound.

The pedestrian suffered a fractured left arm and head injuries as a result of the crash, Tansey said. The driver of the pick-up stopped into the parking lot of the CVS store at 6900 Linda Vista Road and then drove away in an unknown direction.

The injured man was brought to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening.

The driver was later found and questioned, but police said Saturday he has not been arrested and investigation of the incident is still ongoing.
