25-Year-Old Male Hospitalized after Being Struck by Metro Train in Rancho Park
RANCHO PARK, CA (January 2, 2019) – On Wednesday morning, a 25-year-old man was injured by a Metro train on Exposition Boulevard. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred around 8:00 AM near the Westwood/Rancho Park Station.
As per reports, a man was struck by the Metro train. The cause of the accident is currently unknown and no details on what happened prior to the pedestrian getting injured were immediately available.
Paramedics arrive at the scene, and stated the man suffered a moderate leg injury. The victim was transported to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. His current medical condition is unknown at this time.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. The metro train schedule resumed to normal service with some residual delays at about 8:30 AM. There has been no further information released to the public regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
