Hit-and-Run Driver Located after Pedestrian Crash near R Street
EUREKA, CA (September 25, 2018) – A person was hospitalized early Tuesday morning following a hit-and-run collision on 4th Street. The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed to the public.
According to officials with the Eureka Police Department, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at about 12:30 AM in the 1700 block of 4th Street.
The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Updates on the pedestrian’s current medical condition were not immediately available. Meanwhile, the driver did not stop to render aid and was last seen traveling westbound from the vicinity of R Street.
As of Wednesday, authorities confirmed that the driver and the vehicle have been located. An investigation is underway to determine the events that led to the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
