1 Hurt in Everett Pedestrian Accident on Eighth Avenue and 128th Street

EVERETT, WA (June 9, 2021) – Early Sunday, a pedestrian suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Eighth Avenue and 128th Street.

The incident occurred just after midnight on Eighth Avenue W. and 128th Street SW. According to reports, a westbound vehicle hit a walker while driving south through the intersection.

Afterward, the driver immediately fled the crash scene, said Courtney O’Keefe, sheriff’s spokesperson. Meanwhile, responders took the pedestrian to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the limited information available, the Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect vehicle. According to law officers, the vehicle had damage to the front bumper and hood. It might also have damage to the front windshield.

The authorities urged anyone who has information about the suspect or the crash to contact the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. They can turn to the anonymous tip line at 425-388-3845 and include case reference number 2021-83250.

What’s Next after an Everett Pedestrian Crash

According to NHTSA, pedestrian accidents continue to rise in the United States. More pedestrians died in 2018 than in any year since 1990.

To avoid any involvement in such accidents, be a proactive driver, rather than a reactive one. Driving defensively prepares you for emergencies.

It is also crucial that everyone remain calm to properly handle the immediate aftermath of a collision. Moreover, the most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney.

“A common misconception is that personal injury lawyers don’t care. That is simply not true. Injury lawyers care about and want justice for their clients. We are motivated by the desire to make our clients whole again,” says Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers, a practicing attorney.
