RICHLAND, WA (June 30, 2022) – Early Wednesday, a pedestrian suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on State Route 243 and Columbia Boulevard.
 
The incident occurred at about 3:49 a.m. on State Route 243 and Columbia Boulevard.
 
According to reports, a car struck a 14-year-old pedestrian. Then, the driver fled the crash scene.
 
When the authorities arrived, they found the victim roughly three miles south of Mattawa by milepost 11 of the highway.
 
Moreover, officers described the suspect vehicle as a silver Chevrolet Cavalier of an older model. Reports said that it drove southbound on S.R. 243. Then, it hit the victim and went south as it fled the scene. Officers said that the vehicle will have damage to the front and passenger side mirror.
 
Meanwhile, first responders took the victim to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland to address his severe injuries.
 
Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information about the incident to call WSP Detective Kukes at 509-925-2698.
