Preventing Auto Accidents
As roadways continue to clear and walking outside has increased in commonality, pedestrian accident statistics are soaring.
However, you can avoid being involved in an accident by avoiding dangerous habits. Also, make sure to always walk on the sidewalk (no jaywalking) and make eye contact with drivers. Furthermore, never assume the driver can see you.
If you’re a driver, know that pedestrians have the right of way at any crosswalk or intersection. You must yield and be prepared to stop.
“Pedestrian accidents do not occur as much as motor vehicle accidents, but the pedestrian accidents tend to include more serious injuries,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
