Afternoon Pedestrian Crash with FedEx Truck on 22 Freeway in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (June 3, 2019) – A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a FedEx truck Monday afternoon in Garden Grove.
The crash happened around 1:12 p.m. on westbound 22 Freeway at Brookhurst Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian was walking across the freeway when he was hit by the truck in the middle lanes.
The FedEx driver told police he was slowing down at 55 mph when the pedestrian ran in front of his semi on purpose.
The impact sent the victim down on the ground. Paramedics took the patient to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
A SigAlert was issued in the area, blocking the third and fourth lanes for unknown duration while authorities worked on the scene.
