Pedestrian Hospitalized after Struck by Car in Oroville
OROVILLE, CA (February 14, 2019) – On Thursday morning, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle in an accident on Larkin Road around 6:50 AM near Almond Avenue.
As per reports, the driver of a Ford Focus hydroplaned and landed on the flooded side of the road. The driver of a Jeep tried to pull the Ford Focus out of the water when the driver of a Hyundai sped around the corner, hydroplaned, and hit the Jeep and a pedestrian.
Paramedics arrived on scene, they stated the victim suffered major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Their current medical condition is unclear at this time.
The road was closed both ways for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time, as the investigation continues.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released to the public.
