OCEAN BEACH, CA (July 7, 2020) – On Sunday night, a motorcycle hit and seriously injured a pedestrian on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.
 
The hit-and-run crash occurred about 8:40 p.m. on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard near Voltaire Street, stated San Diego Police Officer John Buttle.
 
Buttle added that a 51-year-old man rode a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard in heavy traffic. Some cars stopped in front of him due to a red light at Voltaire Street.
 
Afterward, the rider weaved to the left and began passing the stopped cars. However, a 26-year-old man on the east side of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard was crossing the road while vehicles were stopped. Then, the motorcycle struck the pedestrian.
 
Responders transported the victim to a hospital with a dislocated hip. Meanwhile, the motorcycle rider escaped the crash scene without stopping to render aid. He also left his female passenger behind.
