Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Notre Dame Boulevard
Chico, CA (January 30, 2022) – On Saturday, at about 6:35 p.m., a pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in a fatal pedestrian accident on Notre Dame Boulevard.
Investigators said the victim was crossing the roadway eastbound while pushing a shopping cart.
At the same time, a vehicle was traveling northbound and the driver did not see the pedestrian, struck him before he finished crossing the road.
Immediately, emergency responders took the pedestrian to a local hospital where officers later pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, Chico Police said the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officers said neither speed nor alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Furthermore, officers also said that the victim did not have identification with him and they are asking for the public’s help.
