Man Struck and Killed by Metrolink Train near Baldwin Park
EL MONTE, CA (February 10, 2019) — A man was killed after being struck by a Metrolink train while walking near the tracks between Baldwin Park and El Monte on Thursday morning.
A Metrolink spokesperson confirmed that the man got struck by the SB Line 319 train bound for Los Angeles from San Bernardino. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash according to the El Monte Police Department and Metrolink. His identity has not yet been released.
Closed during the investigation were the tracks between Baldwin Park and El Monte. Two trains were held for two hours namely: the SB Line 321 train to Los Angeles held at Baldwin Park; and the SB Line 306 train to downtown San Bernardino held at El Monte. The Metrolink service has since been restored.
