Officers Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision in Halloran Springs
Halloran Springs, CA (November 12, 2023) – A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries following an Interstate 15 traffic collision Friday night.
The traffic accident happened at about 9:49 p.m. after Halloran Springs Road exit.
According to the investigators, a black Dodge Caravan traveling at a high rate of speed went to pass a vehicle and a big rig on the right shoulder on northbound freeway.
However, when the Dodge Caravan passed the big rig, the vehicle struck a pedestrian walking along the highway.
The big rig driver sped away from the scene.
A witness called CHP and reported the hit-and-run accident.
CHP stopped a Dodge Caravan with major front-end damage in the Mountain Pass area.
Later on, the authorities impounded the vehicle for evidence to the fatal collision.
Passengers in the big rig were picked-up by family members.
In the meantime, there is no update if they will charged the driver for leaving the accident scene and failure to report an accident with an injury or death.
