Jose Martin Longoria Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Union Avenue
Bakersfield, CA – On August 14, 49-year-old Jose Longoria died in a hit-and-run crash on Union Avenue.
Bakersfield police said they responded to the 800 block of Union Avenue for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at around 10:15 p.m. However, the involved driver fled from the scene before they arrived.
The victim sustained moderate to major injuries. Immediately, the rescuers took Mr. Longoria to a hospital, where he later died.
Upon investigation, police found out the victim was walking in traffic lanes outside of a crosswalk at the time of the accident.
