People Injured in Sacramento Fatal Collision
Sacramento, CA (July 24, 2022) – On Saturday, a pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Stockton Boulevard.
It was about 3 p.m. when the fatal collision took place near McMahon Drive.
According to the investigators, a 29-year-old driver in a white Toyota Rav4 SUV was driving at a high rate of speed. The Rav4 struck a sedan driven by an 82-year-old driver that was turning left to McMahon Drive.
As a result, the sedan struck three pedestrians on the sidewalk.
Unfortunately, one of the pedestrians died at the scene, while the paramedics rushed the two others to a hospital with major injuries.
Similarly, the sedan driver also sustained moderate injuries.
The authorities notified the deceased’s family while on the scene.
Moreover, the RAV4 driver got out of the vehicle and ran away. Luckily, a Sacramento Police helicopter located the suspect near the crash.
Just before 6 p.m., the authorities arrested and booked the driver into the Sacramento Main Jail.
