Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Atlantic Avenue
Long Beach, CA (January 08, 2021) – On Tuesday, a woman died in a deadly hit-and-run crash on Atlantic Avenue and Market Street.
The fatal crash took place at about 8 p.m. wherein the paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
“The preliminary investigation revealed a sedan traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Atlantic Avenue struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk,” a police statement said. “The driver did not stop and immediately fled the area.”
The involved car was red which sustained major front-end damage, the police said.
Meanwhile, the authorities withheld the deceased’s identity pending notification of her relatives.
