Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Collision near Branford Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 20, 2018) – A pedestrian died Monday morning after a hit-and-run crash on San Fernando Road. The identity and place of residence of the deceased victim were not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 6:00 AM near Branford Street.
The involved vehicle fled the scene after the incident, leaving the injured man in the road. Responding firefighters with the LA Fire Department found the victim down on the road in critical condition. Despite life-saving attempts, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim was only described as a man in his 50s.
There is currently no desciption of the hit-and-run driver or the vehicle involved. No further details have been released by the authorities, as they continue to investigate the fatal crash and try to identify and locate the hit-and-run motorist.
