STANTON, CA (April 21, 2021) – Tuesday night, a pedestrian died in a crash on Katella Avenue near Date Street in Stanton.
 
According to reports, the deputies came to the scene at around 9:00 p.m. Moreover, it happened in the 7600 block of Katella Avenue, near Date Street.
 
Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a woman who was declared dead at the scene, said Lt. J. Montano of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
 
Reports said that the woman was probably outside a marked crosswalk during the incident. Meanwhile, responders took the vehicle driver to a hospital to be tested for DUI, Montano added.
 
As a result of the crash, Katella Avenue and Date Street became closed to traffic until further notice.
 
Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased.
