1 Dead in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 and Calvine Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 10, 2022) – Friday night, a pedestrian died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 99 and Calvine Road.
The incident happened at about 10:39 p.m. on Highway 99 and Calvine Road.
According to reports, the CHP officers initially responded to the Calvine Road off-ramp. However, they later found that the crash happened on Highway 99 northbound lanes near the Calvine Road on-ramp.
Upon their arrival, they located a deceased person resting on top of a Honda Civic stopped on the cross-marked triangle section. This area is known as the gore point, next to the Highway 99 on-ramp.
Moreover, the Honda driver sustained injuries in the crash and transport the patient to a local hospital for treatment.
CHP also found a Ford Edge parked on the right shoulder ahead of the Honda under the Calvine Road over-crossing.
CHP investigators confirmed that as the pedestrian walked on the freeway, the Ford and the Honda struck the pedestrian.
Then, authorities shut down the multiple northbound lanes of Highway 99 for about two hours during the investigation.
