Deputy Matthew Horrigan Involved in Crash on State Route 86 in Tucson

Tucson, AZ (October 14, 2023) – On Saturday morning, a pedestrian died in a crash on State Route 86.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. Saturday, Deputy Matthew Horrigan was travelling in a marked patrol car on Route 86 toward the Ajo District when a pedestrian was struck.

According to PCSD, the initial investigation revealed that the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and was lying in the middle of the roadway at the time of the accident.

Deputy Horriagan was not injured and remained on scene when the Tohono O’odham Traffic Unit and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Unit arrived.

Further investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
