1 Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Accident on Hellyer Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (September 4, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, a pedestrian died in a suspected DUI crash on Hellyer Avenue.
According to the San Jose police, the incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. Also, the collision occurred on eastbound Hellyer Avenue.
Reports revealed that the Toyota sedan struck three parked vehicles for still unknown reasons. Then, the sedan driver exited the vehicle and walked near the westbound lanes. Moments later, a Dodge truck struck the sedan driver who was walking in the street.
Moreover, responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Also, the Dodge driver remained at the scene but showed signs of intoxication.
Furthermore, officials arrested and booked the Dodge driver in Santa Clara County Main Jail for DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
