Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Pedestrian Crash near 2nd Avenue
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 4, 2018) – A pedestrian was hospitalized early Saturday morning, following a hit-and-run collision on Geary Boulevard.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened shortly before 1:30 AM near 2nd Avenue. A 54-year-old San Francisco man was crossing Geary Boulevard, diagonally from the northeast to southwest, when an eastbound vehicle struck him.
The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. His identity and current condition were not immediately released. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and fled southbound on Arguello Boulevard from Geary.
Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the hit-and-run suspect and vehicle involved in the collision. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored sedan that likely has front-end damage, but there is currently no description of the driver.
