66-Year-Old Hospitalized in Auto-Pedestrian Crash in San Pablo Avenue
Oakland, CA (May 28, 2020)– Wednesday night, a 66-year-old man sustained severe injuries in a pedestrian crash in the 3200 block of San Pablo Avenue.
The crash occurred at around 9:42 p.m. on May 27. Dispatched officers arrived and located the Honda Accord and the injured pedestrian at the scene.
According to reports, the man was crossing San Pablo Avenue westbound in an unmarked crosswalk at the intersection of Filbert Street when a Honda Accord heading southbound on San Pablo struck him.
As a result, the victim sustained severe head trauma and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the 52-year-old Honda driver, a resident of Oakland, remained at the scene and cooperated with police traffic investigators.
Police said it is still unknown if alcohol or drugs are factors in the collision.
