Police Investigate a Hit-And-Run Crash on Mott Street in Boyle Heights
Boyle Heights, CA (December 4, 2020) – Friday morning, an elderly pedestrian is critical after a hit-and-run crash on Mott Street at Whittier Boulevard.
The crash happened at about 10:35 a.m. on December 4.
Los Angeles Police reports the man was struck while crossing Mott Street at Whittier Boulevard.
The victim was knocked off his scooter, which the compact SUV dragged for half a block.
Then the driver stopped, and a witness helped him dislodge the scooter from the vehicle. However, the suspect then reentered and drove away from the scene.
Police described the vehicle as a silver Mazda CX-5. Moreover, the driver is believed to be in his 40s.
The victim then transported to a hospital in critical condition.
