San Joaquin County, CA (September 29, 2022) – Wednesday night, a pedestrian sustained severe injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Alpine Road, northeast of Stockton.
The hit-and-run crash in San Joaquin County happened at around 8:40 p.m. on September 28, just south of Live Oak Road.
CHP said a Volkswagen Jetta struck a pedestrian and then took off.
EMS took the pedestrian to a hospital in critical condition.
CHP is asking anyone with information to call its Stockton office at 209-938-4800.
Authorities say the vehicle is dark blue and should have damage to the left part of the car and is missing a left-side mirror.
Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
HOW CASES SUCH AS THIS ONE ARISE
Pedestrian accidents more often than not can be avoided. A common cause of these unfortunate incidents includes drivers speeding. Motorists who speed do not have enough reaction time to stop or yield to pedestrians who have the right of way.
