Delano, CA (March 14, 2024) On Thursday morning, a 55-year-old man was killed in a horrific pedestrian crash on Pond Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal collision happened around 6:38 a.m. in the area of Pond Road and Wallace Road.

Reports say that a 55-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a westbound Nissan Sentra, driven by a 36-year-old Delano man.

Authorities pronounced the male victim dead at the scene.

CHP is investigating the auto-pedestrian collision, officials say that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
