Horrific Pedestrian Crash on Paseo Ranchero Claims a Life [Chula Vista, CA]

Pedestrian Killed in Chula Vista Vehicle Collision Late Thursday Night

Chula Vista, CA (September 28, 2024) On Thursday evening, a person was killed after a horrific pedestrian crash on Paseo Ranchero.

According to Chula Vista police (CVPD), the fatal accident happened at about 10:15 p.m. in the area of Telegraph Canyon Road and Paseo Ranchero.

Reports say that a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian near a Chula Vista intersection late Thursday night.

Police reported that officers arrived at the scene to find a passenger vehicle had hit a pedestrian who was standing in the roadway on the 1000 block of Telegraph Canyon Road.

Witnesses, along with police and fire personnel, provided first aid to the victim, but paramedics later pronounced him deceased.

Authorities say that the victim, whose identity remains unknown, is believed to be between 20 and 25 years old.

Officials say that the 69-year-old driver from Chula Vista stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators from the CVPD Traffic Bureau. Authorities stated that alcohol is not currently considered a factor in the pedestrian crash on Paseo Ranchero.
