1 Dead in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 10 East Freeway and Federal Road

HOUSTON, TX (August 11, 2024) – Saturday, a man died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Interstate 10 East Freeway and Federal Road.

The incident occurred just after midnight on the Interstate 10 East Freeway at Federal Road.

Houston Police Department officers responded to a serious vehicle accident and discovered a man dead at the scene.

Authorities reported that the driver did not see the man, who was standing between two lanes when she struck him. After the collision, the driver abruptly stopped, leading to another vehicle rear-ending her car. 

Five people were inside the second car and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, none sustained major injuries and are expected to recover. The driver of the first car was also hospitalized and is expected to be okay.

Investigators are currently trying to determine why the man was in the middle of the road.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
