Tragic Pedestrian Crash on California Avenue Kills Man [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (May 5, 2023) On Wednesday evening, a pedestrian crash on California Avenue claimed the life of a man.

Bakersfield PD says that the fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened around 9:29 p.m. at the intersection with Real Road.

Reports say that a car hit a man crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk. Bakersfield FD and Hall Ambulance arrived and attempted life-saving measures on the pedestrian.

Despite the life-saving measures the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene,

Meanwhile, the driver of the car did not suffer injuries, official says that the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.

BPD is investigating the auto-pedestrian accident and has not released further information at this time.
