Meanwhile, an update from HCSO Lt. Simon Cheng revealed that a driver in a black Dodge Ram pickup truck was heading westbound on W. Mount Houston. Then, a woman with a shopping cart walked onto the road.

Reports confirmed that the area was dark and didn’t have a crosswalk, Cheng said.

Also, officers declared that the woman died at the scene.

Reports confirmed that the crash involved a female pedestrian who was walking next to her friend, who had a bike. She stopped to give information to deputies.
