1 Dead and 1 Injured in Vancouver Pedestrian Crash
VANCOUVER, WA (March 23, 2020) – A pedestrian crash on Northeast 78th Street killed 1 person and injured another on Friday morning.
According to the Vancouver Police Department, a vehicle struck and killed a 49-year-old male pedestrian at around 6:00 a.m. in the 7800 block of Northeast 78th Street.
The authorities pronounced the man dead at the scene. However, his identity and place of residence is still unknown as of this time.
Meanwhile, reports also revealed that the 32-year-old vehicle driver from Vancouver suffered injuries. Medical responders transported the vehicle driver to a hospital for treatment.
Furthermore, authorities clarified that driver impairment did not play a role in the fatal collision.
Moreover, the Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is currently handling the crash investigation.
Crews also shut down a section of Northeast 78th Street while the authorities investigated the scene. Motorists were then advised to use alternate routes.
