Pedestrian Among Injured Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Tucson Hit-and-Run Accident
TUCSON, AZ (October 28, 2019)—A hit-and-run driver struck and injured a pedestrian and cyclist Friday afternoon near South Treat Avenue and East Benson Highway.
According to Francisco Magos with the Tucson Police Department, the hit-and-run incident occurred around 1 p.m. Authorities reported that the crash stemmed from an altercation between the driver and at least one of the men involved. Subsequently, the driver struck both men—described as one pedestrian and one bicyclist—before taking off.
Following the accident, paramedics transported both patients to Banner University Medical Center, where the pedestrian faces life-threatening injuries.
A report stated that the hit-and-run driver traveled south from 5100 S. Treat Ave. after the crash.
Officials added that the dark green older Jeep model involved most likely sustained front-end damage.
