Victorville Pedestrian Accident on 15 Freeway
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 30, 2019) – A helicopter airlifted a pedestrian following an accident on 15 Freeway on July 29.
The incident occurred around 7:17 a.m. on the southbound 15 Freeway and Palmdale Road on-ramp in Victorville. Victorville City Fire came to the scene and requested a helicopter to transport the injured.
The deputies closed Palmdale Road in both directions while CHP Helicopter H-80 landed on the area.
The helicopter flew the 19-year-old female pedestrian to a nearby hospital for treatment. As of this time, her injuries and condition are still unknown.
Meanwhile, Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez revealed that the pedestrian walked along the south shoulder of Palmdale Road. At the same time, a Subaru approached the onramp to enter the freeway.
“The pedestrian saw the vehicle and began to run, in an attempt to make it across the roadway before the car when she was struck,” Rodriguez said.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old female driver didn’t suffer any injury and helped with the investigation.
The perverse actions of a reckless driver can increase the likelihood of traffic collisions. Always pay close attention to the those around you.
