1 Person Hospitalized After Pedestrian Accident on North Saginaw Blvd

Saginaw, TX (August 22, 2024) – On Thursday, one person sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on North Saginaw Blvd.

Reportedly, around 6:20 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, Saginaw Police officers responded to the 1500 block of North Saginaw Blvd following a vehicle and pedestrian accident. 

Upon arrival, officers found an Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD bus stopped in the roadway. 

The bus driver had exited the bus to assist a 48-year-old white male, dressed in dark-colored clothing, who was lying on the ground.

Initial reports indicate that the man was walking southbound in the left turn lane when the bus entered the lane, failing to see him. 

The bus driver attempted to swerve to avoid a collision, but the mirror bracket struck the man on the back of the head. 

The pedestrian was transported to JPS Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At the time of the incident, the bus was only occupied by the driver, and no students were involved. 

The investigation is ongoing, but criminal charges are not expected.
