Fatal Vehicle Crash
When a person lost their life due to another person’s negligence or misconduct, the bereaved can sue the negligent parties for the damages that they caused.
Some of the instances that could result in a wrongful death are homicide, medical malpractice, transportation accidents, vehicle collisions, and any other instance caused by the wrongdoing of another person.
In filing for a wrongful death case, there is a time limit on when family members can take legal action.
These restrictions are called the statute of limitations. It only allows the bereaved to file a wrongful death lawsuit within a certain amount of time.
Unfortunately, when these expire, the legal claim is no longer valid and the family of the deceased can no longer file a lawsuit.
Thus, it is important to know and understand these time limitations, as they vary from state to state and case to case.
