Suspect Outstanding after Hit-And-Run Crash on 27th Avenue in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (June 10, 2023) – Late Friday night, 16-year-old Paulina Vargas-Ochoa died in a hit-and-run crash on 27th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The fatal crash happened around 11 p.m. on June 9.

Phoenix police responded and found Vargas-Ochoa lying in the roadway.

EMS transported her to the hospital where she later died from the injuries sustained.

Police believe Vargas-Ochoa was crossing mid-block on 27th Avenue when she was hit.

The vehicle involved reportedly left the scene.

No additional information is immediately available.

Phoenix police are asking anyone with information to call them at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS if they wish to remain anonymous.
