1 Dead and 2 Injured in Solo-Car Accident near Lassen Street
NORTHRIDGE, CA (November 19, 2018) – A woman was killed early Monday morning following a solo-car crash near Lassen Street. The victim was later identified as 21-year-old Paula Udiong, a resident of Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred in the 9900 block of White Oak Avenue, at about 2:10 AM. A black Toyota sedan was approaching the intersection when it lost control, slammed into a traffic pole, and burst into flames.
Udiong suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews. Meanwhile, the unidentified male driver and a male passenger were transported to a local hospital in severe condition. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not provided.
Investigators believe the car was speeding on Lassen Street prior to the crash. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and to identify other possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
