1 Person Dead in Winnie Auto Accident on Texas Highway 73 and Englin Road

WINNIE, TX (March 7, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, Paula Long died in a devastating two-vehicle crash on Texas Highway 73 and Englin Road.

The incident happened at around 4:49 p.m. along Texas Highway 73 at Englin Road.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a northbound Toyota Camry failed to yield the right of way and collided with a westbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the Toyota, identified as 71-year-old Long, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the pickup to Southeast Texas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Texas Department of Public Safety continued to investigate the crash.
