Injuries Reported in Stevinson Accident on Highway 140 and Highway 165
STEVINSON, CA (January 19, 2022) – Monday afternoon, Paula Gomez of Winton suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 140.
The crash occurred just after 4:38 p.m. on Highway 140 and Highway 165.
According to CHP Officer Eric Zuniga, one vehicle overturned.
Reports revealed that 42-year-old Ryan Williams of Delhi traveled west on Highway 140 in a 1999 Dodge 3500 pickup truck towing a horse trailer. Apparently, he traveled around 5-10 mph after stopping at the intersection.
Then, 60-year-old Paula Gomez driving a southbound 2005 Honda Civic on Highway 165 hit the right side of the truck.
The Honda crashed with the passenger side of the Dodge which caused the Honda to overturn.
After some statements from witnesses, the authorities found that Paula Gomez failed to stop at a stop sign. She also traveled at an estimated 60 mph before the collision. Reports said that a four-way stop controls the intersection.
Eventually, responders transported Paula Gomez to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of major injuries to her arms and legs.
Meanwhile, Ryan Williams complained of pain but declined further medical treatment.
Also, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
