1 Dead in Fresno County Train Accident on Golden State Boulevard
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 2, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, Paul Whited died in a train accident on Golden State Boulevard in Fresno County.
The incident occurred just before 3:00 p.m. on Golden State Boulevard and Maple Avenue.
According to a CHP sergeant, some witnesses told them that the male driver failed to stop at a stop sign before crossing the tracks.
Then, a Union Pacific train hit Mr. Whited’s car. Meanwhile, the conductor revealed that he drove 30 miles per hour during the crash.
First responders came to the area and freed him from the wreckage. They tried to administer life-saving efforts. Unfortunately, Paul Whited died at the scene.
At this time, the detectives are still trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
