Mead, WA (October 31, 2024) On Monday morning, 53-year-old Paul Weber was airlifted to a hospital after a disastrous pedestrian crash on SR206.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the horrific incident happened along State Route 206.

Reports say that the WSDOT worker sustained severe injuries when a pickup truck struck him and pinned him against a work truck.

Authorities report that Weber was loading deer carcasses into a removal truck when a Ford Ranger, driven by 75-year-old Kenneth Massender, collided with him at about 50 mph.

Weber’s co-worker tried to signal to the pickup to slow down and shouted a warning, but the vehicle hit Weber, pinning him against the truck’s lift.

Weber was flown by helicopter to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for surgery and faces possible limb loss as a result of his injuries.

Meanwhile, Massender, who sustained head and chest injuries, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police confirmed that Massender showed no signs of alcohol or drug impairment, and the incident remains under investigation.

The crash closed SR 206, also known as East Mt. Spokane Park Drive, for several hours.
